The Bella Goby (Valencienna bella) is a unique sand-sifting goby known for its elegant markings, slender body, and helpful cleanup behavior. This species spends much of its time sifting sand to filter out detritus and fine particles, aiding in substrate health and clarity.

Care Essentials:

• Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons, but 50+ gallons recommended for long term stability.

• Behavior: Peaceful and ideal in community reef tanks. Will pair with pistol shrimp in a symbiotic relationship.

• Diet: Carnivore/omnivore. Offer finely chopped meaty foods such as mysis, brine shrimp, and quality micro pellets.

• Substrate Needs: Prefers fine sand (like aragonite or crushed coral) at least 2 inches deep to sift effectively.

• Reef Compatibility: Generally reef safe with corals and invertebrates.

• Water Parameters: Maintain standard reef conditions — temperature 76–82 °F, salinity 1.024–1.026, pH 8.1–8.4.
