DESCRIPTION:

Carpenter’s Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus carpenteri) – Vivid Reef-Safe Wrasse with Flashing Behavior
Carpenter’s Flasher Wrasse is a standout for its brilliant color and mesmerizing courtship “flashing” displays. Males display electric hues while performing signature fin flares. Each specimen at TSM Aquatics completes a 30-day quarantine, ensuring arrivals are healthy, feeding well, and reef-ready.

  • Care Level: Easy–Moderate,  adapts well in calm, established reef setups

  • Diet: Carnivore / Planktivore,  thrives on frozen mysis, brine shrimp, copepods, and enriched flakes

  • Temperament: Peaceful, best kept singly or in male-female pairs; avoid mixing males in small tanks

  • Tank Size: 55 gallons or larger with live rock and open swimming space

  • Max Size: ~3 inches (7.5 cm) 

  • Compatibility: Reef-safe — avoids corals and most inverts, but small shrimp caution advised

  • Origin: Western Pacific reefs (Philippines, Indonesia, Palau) 

  • Notes: High jump risk, requires a secure lid. Males flash during courtship displays, best appreciated when paired with females. Introduce females before males to help prevent aggression.
