Phoenix Montipora

Montipora danae, often called a “monti” is a hardy encrusting SPS coral known for its vivid coloration and finely textured surface. As it spreads across rockwork, it forms a dense, low-profile layer with contrasting polyps that create striking visual detail in reef aquariums.

Danae varieties perform well in stable mixed and SPS-dominant systems and develop stronger coloration under consistent reef parameters.

Care: Moderate to high light, moderate flow, and stable alkalinity and calcium.
Growth: Moderate under steady conditions.
Placement: Mid to upper rockwork where it can encrust outward.
