The Threadfin Butterflyfish (Chaetodon auriga) is a striking reef-safe species beloved for its chevron-patterned body, bold black eye stripe, and trailing filament on the dorsal fin with traits that make it instantly recognizable in the aquarium hobby 

This energetic fish is hardy and adapts well to life in well established marine systems. Its peaceful to semi-aggressive temperament and vibrant coloration make it a standout in community tanks that offer plenty of swimming space and hiding spots.

Care Level: Moderate
Diet: Omnivore, feeds on a variety of foods, including mysis, krill, and targeted reef feeding.
Temperament: Peaceful but may show aggression toward similar shaped fish.
Tank Size: Minimum 100 gallons recommended for adult specimens.
Max Size: 9 inches 
Reef-Safe: WITH CAUTION , but may nip at coral polyps if underfed.
Origin: Widespread across the Indo-Pacific , including Red Sea, Great Barrier Reef, Hawaii, and Southeast Asia .
Notes: Provide open swim space and rock formations for shelter. These fish do best when introduced early and in properly cycled tanks
